Research & Anonymised Data Policy

In short: research uses answers only. Names, emails, phones and employee codes are never part of research data, and small groups are never reported.

Why

Campaign answers show what people know and what they miss. That helps organisations and health partners improve awareness, for example by finding which stroke warning signs are least known in a city or age group.

What research data contains

• answers, stored as option numbers, scores and certificate levels
• broad profile fields: how the person took part, age group, gender, city, department, occupation or stream, and organisation type
• the campaign version and date

It never includes names, email addresses, phone numbers, employee codes or certificate codes.

Our safeguards

• Separation: research views and exports are built from answers and broad fields only. Contact details are not included, and the people who analyse data cannot see them.
• Minimum group size: we do not publish or share results for any group with fewer than 10 people, so individuals cannot be singled out.
• No re-identification: we do not try to re-identify anyone, and anyone we share research data with must agree in writing not to try either.
• Purpose limits: research data is used for awareness, education and public-health insight. It is never used for advertising, or for decisions about any individual, such as employment or insurance.
• Ethics: published research follows the applicable ethics rules, such as the ICMR National Ethical Guidelines in India, and GDPR's safeguards for scientific research where it applies. Any study that needs identifiable data will ask for separate consent and ethics approval first.

Who may receive it

• campaign partners, such as the medical trust behind a campaign, and the organisations that ran it, for their own campaigns (see the Campaign Partner Terms)
• academic or public-health researchers, under a written data-use agreement

Your choice

Data that is truly anonymised is no longer personal data under DPDP law, GDPR and most other laws. If you would rather your answers were not used for research at all, write to digi@askofy.com. We will exclude them from future research.
